Connor drank 33 mls today! He also got his first cast today for his clubbed foot.It goes all the way up to his thigh. It is sad but it’ll be worth it when he doesn’t need surgery! Hoping to get transferred to Prince George soon… getting homesick.

Still working on feeding today. Tried nursing… 3 minutes and he was done. He drank the rest from his bottle. The OT is very happy with his progress but not confident enough for us to leave for at least another week.

Tried nursing again today… it kinda worked.. but not enough for Connor to get a full feeding. Got his splints looked at again. They will be staying like this for a while. Hoping to see progress in a couple months. Sounds like we will be sent to PG mid next week! WOOHOO!!

Tried nursing again today…………. well we made the decision to just pump and bottle feed. They won’t let us leave till he can do one or the other. And since he does the bottle better, we are sticking to that.

He is taking the bottle so much better today. He hasn’t been fed through the NG tube at all yet today! Only at night 🙂 So we went out and bought an expensive breast pump. I will attach a pic of what our sleeping arrangements looked like.

feeding has been a challenge today, so we changed the nipple and then things started going smoothly again. It is the weekend and nothing ever happens. We went for a walk today. The fresh air was nice. We are hoping to find out on Monday when we can go home. we decided to take over all the night feedings from now on. Need to start sometime.

He ate really good at every feeding during the night. we are both really tired. We went to Jericho beach for lunch and a walk. A short outing felt good. Our nurse told us to take advantage of the over qualified babysitter lol

Well, really thought we would get a go home date… but we didn’t. is cast got taken off because his foot looked swollen. His Ng tube got taken out as well. So now we wait and we don’t know why. There is someone in PG to help with with clubbed foot and an OT to help with splinting. So ready to leave. My mom is heading to Vanderhoof tomorrow anyways and just waiting for us.

Doctor said this morning they are releasing us tomorrow!! So happy! And then during my noon pumping Connors pediatrician came in and said they are releasing us today!! Once we feed him and do his carseat test we are out of here!! So we plan to drive halfway home today and the rest tomorrow.

(Here is something written on behalf of my boy, Connor)
“Thank you, Lord, for all the care you gave me when I was sick and unsure how life was. Thank you for giving Mommy and Daddy strength and making them as comfortable as possible. My mommy had a very hard time with all this and took all that was in daddy to be there for her and me and still have energy to take care of himself. How often they would take turns going to the “bathroom” and cry. But now we are going to this place they call home. They can’t wait to introduce me to all of their family and friends. Thank you for keeping us safe.”
Goodbye Vancouver, Hello World!!
Thank you for sticking through this all the way to the end. I will be sharing more on our journey with Connor and his Arthrogryposis. Wear blue on June 30 for Arthrogryposis Awareness Day!
